What Do You Look For In a Blog?

What do you look for in a blog? I'm in the process of tweaking and disigning mine and I must say that wordpress is the firefox of conten management systems. I'm looking for interesting plugins I can put in the blog. So far the only thing I've got workin is gravatar, and even though it's aesthetic, it's important to me since i'm m meticulous, which is funny considering I don't know how to code.

I know what I like, but I want to know what you like. Things are coming along nicely if I do say so myself. The money has been paid to get my domain, but I'm having second thoughts, I'm not sure if to go with my name or with another tech name that I have in mind. I'm also not sure it makes sense to run 2 blogs. As it is I'm involved in 3, but keeping my personall and tech stuff in one would bring it to a manageable 2 blogs. Oh, the decisions.

If you know of any interesting or useful Wordpress hacks or plugins you use or know of, and find useful let me know. Off the top of my head, I know of:

Flickrss (want to implement my flickr profile)
Askimet Comment Spam plugin (a must)
Feedburner replacer plugin

I'm sorry to say that I made this post in Opera which apparently isn't playing nice with blogger, among every other site on ther interweb, so no fancy hyperlinks to just make things random as I like to do, no bolding or italicizing to emphasize anything, just plain old text, so sorry for anything grammatically or morally incorrect that you may have encountered in this post.

Oh, by the way, stop! Hammer Time! http://www.mchammer.blogspot.com

Couldn't resist :P

EDIT: Stupid me forgot to put a title, and I also forgot, I'm thiking about putting in a forum as well, we'll see how it goes

I'm stupid!

Where the heck do I have to go to get gravatar to work? It is installed and activated, now what? I feel so stupid...

Status Report

Wow, wordpress is really different, I mean really different. Luckily I have someone helping me with this, even though I like doing stuff on my own. Thanks so much for the comments so far, even though they're anonymous and it's mildly creepy :P

Seriously, I'm looking for any advice and/or resources concerning my new blogs. There are so many things to take into consideration. I've blogged for a long time now and I know common mistakes concerning design as well as content. I'm currently looking into getting K2 or even Modern where my blog's template is concerned. But hey, maybe Hemmingway isn't totally ruled out yet :)

Something else I need help with is plugins; which ones do I need!?

So far, from what I've seen, I want
More?

The question came up on if I would be reviving tekstop. The answer, in short, is no. The answer, in long, is yes. What? That makes no sense! Lemme explain.

I've always had a thing about doing my own site, I've never really been able to find sites that I was always content with, I always find myself saying that I can do things better that X or Y site. Well, now the time is coming where I can test my theories. I am doing a personal blog as well as a technology blog. Now, my personal blog will be tech stuff too, heck it'll be about anything I feel like, but the tech blog will be different.

The thing is, there are "tech blogs" popping up everyday, so what am I to do to make mine different? I have ideas, and I think I can make this work, honestly. Not only are those 2 blogs on the way, but a third one which is further along than my personal or tech blog is also in the works. This one is not of my doing entirely, but I'll be a part of it. This year I'm gonna be hella lot busy with these 3 blogs, writing for Gamernode.com and school. I'm also taking a lot of pictures now and intend to upload more to Flickr. I have a new account, so don't mind the one you're seeing at the top of the blog right now. This year is gonna be something else. I can't wait but for now, I can only give minimal details. :)

Wordpress Themes

What are some good themes you've seen for Wordpress? I'm looking for something minimalist, but anything interesting would do.

Moving On....

I'd like to formally announce that I'm retiring this blog. In it's place, a new blog will arise. For the people subscribed to the RSS feed, thank you, still keep subscribes until the new site is 100% operational. My new domain is yet to be bought and so the RSS feed for it is non existent. When the final post on this blog is made, I'll let you know when the site is ready for primetime. Right now it's just a blob of play dough, waiting to be molded.
Yes, molded, without a U, and for the record, it's color, not colour. :)

2006, baby!
